Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub - American comedian, actress and activist After emigrating to America she was born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents. Her career began as an actress in her early years as a child. She came to prominence for her appearances on AT&T television commercials as saleswoman Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016 and , since then, until 2020. In addition to her commercial appearances, she was a series regular on the Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015). Also, she was an actor on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016–2017). Vayntrub, who was originally chosen to play the character Squirrel Girls in Marvel Rising's pilot that was never aired for New Warriors in 2018, was voiced in that role since. Vayntrub was Jewish and was born in Tashkent in the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. She and her parents left antisemitism at the age of two. They settled in West Hollywood. Due to her family's financial difficulties and her own financial struggles, she began acting in Mattel Barbie commercials as a five-year-old. Vayntrub briefly was a student at Beverly Hills High School, but she dropped out of the school in her sophomore year. She obtained a GED and went to pursue an Associate of Arts in Communication at the University of California, San Diego. She learned improv comedy from the Upright Citizens Brigade.
